    Einzelheiten zur Veranstaltung

Nowhere has fundraising been more studied than the United States, offering insight that may strengthen nonprofits in Germany — both in finding new strategies to try at home, and also exploring opportunities to develop new revenues across the Atlantic.

Together with U.S. fundraising expert Karen Brooks Hopkins, President Emerita of the Brooklyn Academy of Music and author of the widely read book, Successful Fundraising for Arts & Cultural Organizations, we will learn more about how fundraising works in the United States — building from her successes in raising significant donor revenues and leading large-scale campaigns. Then, leading German fundraiser Karla Hirsch, Head of Development at the Bavarian State Opera, will share more from her experiences building relationships with major donors and foundations in the U.S. as a German organization.

This conversation is hosted by the King Baudouin Foundation United States (KBFUS), the leading resource in the U.S. to facilitate philanthropic giving to Europe and Africa, and Deutscher Fundraising Verband (DFRV), a nonprofit professional association that unites fundraisers, charitable organizations, fundraising service providers, representatives from science and research and everyone who campaigns for a culture of giving in Germany.
